On Hold, Hold On - April 1, 2015

Psalm 27:14     Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.

Isaiah 40:31      But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

Proverbs 3:5-6      Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

James 5:7-8      Be patient, therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it, until it receives the early and the late rains. You also, be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand.

Lamentations 3:25      The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him.

Learning to wait on God’s timing is hard. No matter how hard we try we fail to see that He synchronizes His responses to accomplish His purpose; so often we get impatient and interfere in His business and thereby slowing the response.

Have you ever been on an airplane in a holding pattern? I live in SF and holding patterns have been a major irritant at times… holding in the air, REALLY?!!!! When God say wait we are in a similar situation as the airplane in the holding pattern. Holding, a giant plane in midair and wait for instructions; holding a problem or a situation that you’re allowing to wreak havoc in your mind and life.

Question to ask yourself: Do you have enough faith to maintain and sustain yourself in a holding pattern? Can you rest assured in knowing that God has not forgotten you? Please note that almost every scripture that tells us to wait also instructs us to prepare our hearts or seek Him….not go and try to make things happen….He wants us to work on ourselves so He can either work through us or to provide a blessing we are prepared to receive.

Allow God to be God and know He is not threatened by what we deem an emergency
