Romans 2:4 Or do
you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not
realizing that God's kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?
2 Peter 1:11 and
you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior
Jesus Christ.
2 Chronicles 7:14
If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and
seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and
will forgive their sin and heal their land.
Joel 2:13 And
rend your hearts and not your garments.” Return to the Lord your God,
for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast
love; and he relents over disaster.
God is far too good for us to share in His love and then be
content to act like we never received it, living crazy. There is no way you
could or should receive His comfort and love when all others leave you standing
in the cold, and you not want to please Him as a reward for His goodness. Repentance
comes because of God's unfailing love for us. God is perfect yet He's a God
that cares for our fragility and our brokenness. He reclaims us after we've been
used and discarded. His love for us elicits a response from our hearts and we are compelled
to live for Him.
The wounded and overlooked, the addict and the abused....come
into the shelter, come out of the storm. You are accepted and loved. God is
always ready to receive and heal!
