Genesis 1:26 Then
God said, "Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they
may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock
and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the
ground."
Matthew 5:48 "Therefore
you are to be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
Colossians 1:15 He
is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.
Psalm 8: 3 - 5 …3 When
I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars,
which You have ordained; 4 What is man that You take thought of him, And
the son of man that You care for him? 5 Yet You have made him a little
lower than God, And You crown him with glory and majesty!…
Just imagine the fun of creation; you just know God had to
be smiling with a sense of joy and satisfaction as He hung the stars , placed
stripes on zebras and created the platypus.
Can't you just imagine Him determining the length of a giraffes
neck or how many times a hummingbird's wings must flap in order for him to
hover.
To culminate his His
brilliance, he made man. With tremendous majestic flair he took a
handful of dirt, a base substance and likened His image...
(Note we often get confused at this point...man does not
look like God; God is a spirit. What it means it that we were brought forth
without sin . Man is a unique creature in that we have both a material body
with an immaterial spirit)
Think about just how
treasured you are to God that He should be mindful of you and in His creation
of you
