pleasant it is when God's people live together in unity!
The Bible puts forth the call to fellowship. We are called to be in
communion and to experience life together.
Matthew 18: 19-20 …"Again
I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may
ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven. "For
where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their
midst."
There are several things that happen when we are in fellowship
together:
1)
We experience sincerity in people: 1
John 1: 7 But if we walk in the
light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the
blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.
2)
We get to experience reciprocity: Romans 1:11-12 …For I long to see you so that I may
impart some spiritual gift to you, that you may be established; that is,
that I may be encouraged together with you while among you, each of us by the
other's faith, both yours and mine.
3)
We experience sympathy: Galatians 6: 2 Carry each other's burdens, and in this
way you will fulfill the law of Christ.
4)
We experience mercy: Colossians 3:13 Bear with each other and forgive one
another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord
forgave you.
