Matthew 5:46 If you
love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax
collectors doing that?
1 John 4:18 ESV There is no fear in love, but perfect love
casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not
been perfected in love.
1 Corinthians 13:4-7 ESV Love is patient and kind; love does not
envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way;
it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but
rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all
things, endures all things.
Being loved is an amazing thing, but sometimes the world
forgets what it's like and what it feels like to love and be loved. Even worse,
you can be a part of the group that neglects the importance of what it means to
love or you could be expecting that feeling to be enhanced by your spouse, your
helpmate... Whether that love is void or lacking, it doesn't give you a pass to
stop loving them. Marriage is about loving unconditionally. Don't ever make you
love for someone dependent upon theirs for you....if you do it isn't love at
all.
