Romans 8:28 ESV And
we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for
those who are called according to his purpose.
Isaiah 40:28-31 ESV Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is
the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or
grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, and
to him who has no might he increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be
weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall
renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall
run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.
Matthew 6:24-34 ESV “No one can serve two masters, for either
he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and
despise the other. You cannot serve God and money. “Therefore I tell you, do
not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor
about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body
more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor
gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more
value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his
span of life? And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of
the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, ...
Man oh man!!! How many times in your life have you been going on about your business and your plans achieving goals when WHAM!!! all of
a sudden the rug is pulled out from under you?
Disappointment is a vicious robber and debilitating enemy;
sneaking up behind you and clubbing you into submission. It can disturb you so
emotionally that you will rendered ineffective in your thought and deed. As a
result, you isolate yourself from the creative forces that are ready to help
you. Disappointment can strike at almost any time, in any situation so it’s
important that you learn to roll with the punches.
First , don’t let the situation disappointment steal your
joy, destroy your hope or shake your knowledge of the goodness of God. “Do not
throw away your confidence, which has a great reward” (Hebrews 10:35). When
disappointment strikes, it is the time, more than ever to run to and hold
tightly to your faith. Identify with David who was being chased; identify with
Job who was being afflicted; tell yourself, “ I still believe.” Disappointment opens the door to spiritual
warfare ; your effort to stay focused will require mental and spiritual effort
to maintain your confidence in God and in yourself, but it is your road to
better things.
Thank God every day; there’s always a reason to do so.
“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits” (Psalm 103:2).
Start thanking the Lord for all the blessings he has given you. Do this instead
of mentally—and perhaps vocally—harping on what has been denied you. You’ll be
amazed how much better your life will look when you saturate it with
thanksgiving!
