Acts 20:32 "Now
I commit you to God and to the word of his grace, which can build you up and
give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.
Matthew 4:4 Jesus
answered, "It is written: 'Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every
word that comes from the mouth of God.
Growth and maturity come about when we replace fantasy, fiction, fables
and our self-will with truth. The Holy Spirit uses the word to transform us but
in order to become Christ-like we must embrace and live the word.
John 17:17 Sanctify
them by the truth; your word is truth.
2 Timothy 3:17 so
that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
God’s word is perfect and unchanging. Without the word we would not be
alive
Hebrews 4:12 For
the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it
penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the
thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
1 Peter 1:23 For
you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through
the living and enduring word of God.
Do not be deceived by the world, there is no such thing as a self-made
man. The word of God is needed to fulfill your purpose.
Job 23:12 I have
not departed from the commands of his lips; I have treasured the words of his
mouth more than my daily bread.
1 Peter 2:2 Like
newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in
your salvation,
In order to be healthy, feeding on the “bread of life” (the word) must
be a priority
Deuteronomy 8:3 He
humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which
neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that man does not live
on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD.
John 8:31-32 So
Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, "If you continue in
My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and
the truth will make you free."…
Day to day living should include 3 things:
1)
Accepting the authority of Scripture
2)
Apply the word’s truth
a)
Receiving it
b)
Reading it
c)
Researching it
d)
Remembering it
e)
Reflecting on it
3)
Living the word
