We are created and formed to the family and counted as community. None
of us can operate independently to fulfill God’s purpose.
1 Corinthians 3:16
Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's
Spirit dwells in your midst?
Ephesians 2:21 In
him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in
the Lord.
You must do more than believe; you must belong as well. Membership is not something to be taken
lightly or to be ignored. The church is God’s gift and purpose for the world.
Matthew 16:18 And
I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the
gates of Hades will not overcome it.
Ephesians 5:25 Husbands,
love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her
Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you
richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and
hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
Being part of a church moves you past self-centeredness and immaturity
in faith. Being part of a church helps develop spirituality and marks you as a
genuine believer. You are called to a mission.
John 13:35 By this
everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."
1 Corinthians 12:26
If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored,
every part rejoices with it.
1 John 3:16 This
is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we
ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.
