Gentle Correction October 24, 2019

Jeremiah 10:24 New International Version (NIV)

24 Discipline me, Lord, but only in due measure—not in your anger,
or you will reduce me to nothing.

I love a request that a good friend regularly makes of the Lord: "Humble me gently, Father." Transformation is hard work and requires even more patience on God's part than it does on our part. We thank God for his grace which lets us admit our sin and yet still come into his holy and awesome presence. Thankfully he doesn't treat us as we deserve, but as we need (cf. Psalm 103).

Thought for today: Can I provide and accept gentle correction or do I need a big production so I can get angry and blow the lesson off?

This page was created to share my faith and to motivate and encourage others to explore their spirituality and to start a lifelong faith walk. Far too many of us have embraced church messages of can't and condemnation because of short comings and character defects.

In the mid '90's I discovered a place that resuscitated my spirituality and encouraged me to acquire a deeper theological foundation. I was blessed to learn from Bishop Yvette Flunder and it is my fervent prayer that I continue to preach and teach what I learned about the gospel, liberation theology and radical inclusivity.

What I Believe:

Radical Inclusivity is the intentional inclusion of all persons; especially people who have traditionally lived at the margins of society, such as people suffering from substance abuse; people living with HIV/AIDS; same-gender loving people; the recently incarcerated; and sex industry workers.

At the core faith and vision is a mandate from God to proclaim a gospel that is radically inclusive of all persons. The Fellowship defines radically inclusivity as "the intentional inclusion of every person in the community of faith." Inclusivity challenges major fundamental, deep-seated Christian beliefs, doctrines and theologies of the center of society which characterize people on the edge as enemies of God and routinely mistreats, oppresses and excludes people from the community of faith and its institutions. It is my purpose and aim to provide a safe place of refuge for persons who have been wounded by oppressive theologies and to provide a place of nurturing and training for those who feel called to this shared ministry.
