Priority February 28, 2019

Jeremiah 2:28 New International Version (NIV)
28 Where then are the gods you made for yourselves?
Let them come if they can save you
    when you are in trouble!
For you, Judah, have as many gods
    as you have towns.

Let's focus on one simple concept today. Based on the allocation of our time, interest, lifestyle, expenditures of money, and speech, who or what is our god? Is it the Lord God?

Thought for today: What in my life do I allow to take precedence over God?

Bedrock February 27, 2019

Daniel 2:27-28 New International Version (NIV)
27 Daniel replied, “No wise man, enchanter, magician or diviner can explain to the king the mystery he has asked about, 28 but there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries. He has shown King Nebuchadnezzar what will happen in days to come. Your dream and the visions that passed through your mind as you were lying in bed are these:

What is the bedrock of your faith in uncertain times? Who knows where all the upheaval, tumult, and uncertainty are truly heading? In whom can you find the solution to your most perplexing problems? For Daniel and his friends, there was one solid and true answer: the Lord God of Israel. It wasn't in the so-called wise teachers of the day. It wasn't in the religions of the East. It wasn't in the super-spiritualists. It was in God alone.

Thought for today: Is my faith as strong as I think it is?

None But The Righteous

As kid coming up I heard the old saints singing, what seemed to be a million times, this song: None but the righteous, none but the righteous, none but the righteous shall see God. It was used as a chorus during baptisms.
As I grew older, I knew a sister, who like to refer to herself in the third person and use the title Evangelist repeatedly say “The bible says that the righteous shall scarcely make it in (heaven)…”
Her interpretation of the word bothered me to no end because it reminded me of the heavy-handed way the old church mothers taught from a place of judgment and bias. Don’t get me wrong….I learned some discipline from those ladies and a lot of what they taught was valuable to me in my lifetime but I also began to realize that some of what they taught was a result of oppression and an oppressive theology given to them via slavery.
With this knowledge I began to reflect on and repeatedly revisit what it means to be righteous.

Merriam-Webster defines righteous as such:
1: acting in accord with divine or moral law: free from guilt or sin
2a: morally right or justifiable a righteous decision
b: arising from an outraged sense of justice or morality, righteous indignation
3: slang: GENUINE, EXCELLENT
Now, with the word defined ask yourselves, who or what defines my righteousness? Believe it or not, righteousness needs both a who and a what to define it. Trust and believe the who, is not the church, the saint, your friends or your mother and father! They can all provide instruction and guidance but righteousness and right standing is determined by God and God alone!
The what, in righteousness, are your actions. To keep this all real for you, folks, your actions may be the only Bible that people read. What do you actions say about your righteousness? These scriptures are supports to what I’m saying:
“For the Lord is righteous, he loves justice; upright men will see his face” (Ps. 11:7).
“And I–in righteousness I will see your face; when I awake, I will be satisfied with seeing your likeness” (Ps. 17:15).
“Surely the righteous will praise your name and the upright will live before you” (Ps. 140:13).
“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God” (Matt. 5:8).
“Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world” (John 17:24).

The bible says to study to show ourselves approved which leads me to bring this all together for you. These few verses address righteousness in its proper context. If we truly see God, our actions reflect what we see, so righteousness is both literal and figurative. Righteous is a noun and a verb linked together by love; the love of God and the love of his people.
Now, getting back to the words of the Evangelist, I knew she had it wrong, her quote of the Scripture was rooted in a judgment and her vision of what it means to be righteous. What I know today is that we ALL fall short of the glory of God …the words scarcely;  1 Peter 4:18 simply translates to having difficulty and what in the world is more difficult than living in it?  There is no judgement attached to this passage because God KNOWS that we are full of flaws and character defects
God knows our struggle Romans 7:19
Stop beating yourselves up for falling short on some things and learn to look for lessons and blessings “BLessons”   Amen.

Real Faith February 26, 2018

James 2:26 New International Version (NIV)
26 As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.

By this definition, a whole lot of people claiming to be believers are really spiritual corpses. For faith to be real, it must express itself in service. Faith not only moves mountains; it moves believers to act in ways that honor God and bless others, demonstrating their thankfulness for God's incredible grace.

Thought for today: Do I offer prayers as ritual or do I offer them knowing that they will be acted upon?

On The Path February 25, 2019

John 2:24-25 New International Version (NIV)
24 But Jesus would not entrust himself to them, for he knew all people.25 He did not need any testimony about mankind, for he knew what was in each person.

If we've spent a bunch of time reading the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, & John in the New Testament), we probably have already come to the conclusion stated in our verses. So, if we want to know how to better live as a person, the place to start is Jesus. We need to follow his example and follow his teachings. It is not an easy path, but it is an authentic and transformational journey. As we learn that we can trust him because he knows us, we see our lives take on a greater depth and richer meaning.

Thought for today: Am I walking in a way that allows for transformation?

Union February 24, 2019

Genesis 2:24 New International Version (NIV)
24 That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.

We are different! God makes us male and female so we can be complements of each other. Each is made in God's image. God's intention is that a husband and wife find their primary human relationship with the other. They still honor their parents, but their home is with each other. Their two lives become one. In this context of lifetime security, they share in the intimate knowledge of each other sexually — becoming "one flesh." This relationship is to be enjoyed (Proverbs 5), protected (1 Thessalonians 4:3-8), and celebrated (Song of Solomon) for life (Matthew 19:6).

Thought for today: Am I mindful of my unions? (not just from a romantic/intimate point of context)

The Intersection February 23, 2019

Acts 2:23 New International Version (NIV)
23 This man was handed over to you by God’s deliberate plan and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men, put him to death by nailing him to the cross.

When we think of the Cross, two words we must never associate with it are the words "tragic accident." Peter makes very clear that two separate streams of power converged at the cross. Evil had its way and brought the Son of God to the Cross. God had his plan and he allowed the cross to happen to redeem us. The Cross was no accident. What hell had intended as our ultimate defeat, God used to bring us redemption and triumph. The best and worst of all things collided. Of course the Cross wasn't the ultimate answer in this battle; the empty tomb and the resurrected Lord are. We are the victorious recipients of this grace, paid at such an agonizing cost, administered in such a cruel manner by our greatest adversary, and secured by Jesus' triumph over the grave.

Thought for today:  What is my response when I am faced with an intersection?

Gracious Patience

I posted something this morning with the words “gracious patience” and that phrase has been dancing around in my soul for a little over two hours because it just resonated with me.

We all know what the words mean individually but they really pack a punch when you place them together. I began to look at and dissect scripture that indicated the nature of graciousness. In James 4:6 grace was affiliated with humility in that pride will limit your ability to give and receive grace. Ephesians 2:8 stated that grace is a gift from God by way of faith; you cannot earn it, it is given through your demonstration. Now, here is where it gets a bit confusing to people, the whole faith and works argument; God gives grace as God sees fit. People, believers, often struggle with levels of judgment, analyzing who is deserving of grace (it’s between the recipient and God) anyone with a judgment needs to refer back to the passage in James.

The word patience involves waiting. The first passage that immediately came to mind was Psalm 46:10 be still and KNOW that I am God. I began to think about how I, in times of trial and stress, immediately become what I like to call “proactive” when I am in reality an activist with an unknown cause and my discomfort causes me to seek advice and advocates. I fail to realize that my (dis) ease is a result of the disease called sin, poor choices, lack of insight, poor impulse control, karma….whatever you want to call it and sometime I just have to accept that I am just flat out under attack; spiritual warfare is very reaI; but, at any rate I have to look at what part I played in it and how I can do better. The second passage of scripture that came to mind was Isaiah 40:31….they that wait upon the Lord… I don’t know about you but waiting is one of the most difficult things that I ever have to do. I like things tied up or in progress where I have the illusion of control or when I can manifest a timeline for completion…..

For as crazy as things get, I know that my soul has been anchored and it is in these times that I can feel the power of my faith.

What's your source?

Grace

I found myself singing the chorus of The Blood Will Never Lose Its Power:
The blood that Jesus shed for me Way back on Calvary The blood that gives me strength from day to day It will never lose its power. It reaches to the highest mountain and it flows to the lowest valley The blood that gives me strength From day to day It will never lose its power. It soothes my doubts and calms my fears and it dries all my tears. The blood that gives me strength From day to day It will never lose its power.

And then my mind went to all the things that we use in life, including our bodies and minds, that need recharging…the covering (GRACE) whether you choose to believe it or not….is the only thing that keeps us going. Grace is that soothing balm for the person who has been burned or hurt by the actions of others. Grace is the brace that supports the unsteady. Grace is that mind regulator.

Our human design is no accident….think about it…you cannot make your own heart beat (we’ve deemed it an involuntary muscle response but go back to the BLOOD and GRACE and you’ll have the true scientific explanation for your life…

Ephesians 2:8 English Standard Version (ESV)
8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,
now discover your purpose and passion and put it into action …..

Living Waters

Oh I feel like preaching.....let's have church y'all. My Pastor, teacher, mentor once told me "we preach out of our experiences." Yes, we do!!!!!
Let me tell you….there is just something about being around the people who love God and having a high energy conversation when you know that your spirit is off.
My inner circle is comprised of people of all walks of faith but my “go to” folks are people in different ministerial capacities. I like to engage in what I call “rabbinical conversation” you know when rabbis get together they discuss their interpretation of the scriptures. Well, yesterday was my turn to engage. A sister and I were talking about the “but God said…” moments in our lives and I began the discussion on the leading of the Holy Spirit and how it compels us to do and seek the will of God. John 16:12-14 “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth … He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you.” We went on and on about that for a while then the topic shifted to Romans 8:26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.
I tell you I began to really examine and dissect this passage and it down to this, have you ever been so deeply impacted by something that you could not find the words to express the magnitude of the thing? Like when you were a kid and you cried; your mother could tell the difference between a “normal” no big deal cry and a cry of distress and she would respond accordingly. The Holy Spirit does the same for us. The Holy Spirit interprets the things that impact our souls and our righteousness because we have a tendency to minimize and “deal with” things. We have a tendency of telling others before we tell God! We listen to the advice of others rather than seeking the word and comfort of God! We complain about it or have pity parties magnifying the thing before we magnify our prayer! When we do this we interfere with God’s presence and promise….it’s kind of like being so out of it that you fight with paramedics who are there to render aid.
The Holy Spirit tells God all about our distress cries that’s behind our “brave face and I’m ok’s” the thing that we don’t allow the world to see for fear of further exploitation or pain… so, why do we so freely share it without thinking about what could result from it; without considering the fact that someone could exploit our vulnerabilities? WE WANT RELIEF! Pure and simple we want the hurt to go away. The Holy Spirit takes that pain and translates it; so we do not walk in the nature of or desires (give in to fixes of the flesh)
I tell you by the time we finished talking I had that sister speaking in tongues and I was praising God like I’d lost all ability to reason….
When is the last time you had a good water cooler conversation?….I had a living water cooler conversation ; )

Trust February 22, 2019

Isaiah 2:22 New International Version (NIV)
22 Stop trusting in mere humans,
who have but a breath in their nostrils.
    Why hold them in esteem?

God will humble the arrogant. He has a day designated to do this. But, until that day dawns, God's Kingdom people must live knowing that even the apparently powerful but ungodly will be brought to ruin. We shouldn't trust in human power; it can evaporate like dew in the morning sunshine. Human power is limited by death. When the breath of a tyrant is gone, so is his power. Once the life of an evil person is over, all that is left is the evil. Our trust must be in Yahweh Sabbaoth, the Lord God of heaven's armies. Anything else is a dim, small, and distorted reflection of the real thing.

Thought for today: Do I fear the “Wizards of Oz’s” of my life or do I choose to trust God?

Blessed Assurance February 21, 2019

Joel 2:21 New International Version (NIV)
21     Do not be afraid, land of Judah;
    be glad and rejoice.
Surely the Lord has done great things!

This reassurance from God is given to a people facing desperate times, which were brought on by God to lead them to repent. Their land lies desolate and decimated from drought, plagues, and poor harvests. God, however, is now promising to bless them if they will return to him with all their hearts. The LORD, the covenant God of Israel, will do great things to bring his people to deliverance through their repentance and his gracious power. The land can rejoice and be glad. So should his people! So should we! Because of Jesus, we know that "the LORD has done great things" for us!

Longevity February 20, 2019

Galatians 2:20 New International Version (NIV)
20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

We are dead, but more alive than ever before. We are crucified and humiliated, yet glorified as never before. You see, Christ lives in us. He works through us to bless others. So the life we live now in our limited bodies is not limited — it is the work of Christ. The life we live now is lived by faith in the one and only Savior, who has shown his love by giving himself to redeem us.

Thought for today: Am I aware of the indwelling and what kind of habitat do I maintain?

Fidelity February 19, 2019

Hosea 2:19-20 New International Version (NIV)
19 I will betroth you to me forever;
I will betroth you in righteousness and justice,
    in love and compassion.
20 I will betroth you in faithfulness,
and you will acknowledge the Lord.

God longed for Israel to be faithful to him. Despite the unfaithfulness in the past, God offered his people forgiveness and hope that they could be restored to relationship with him again. If God was willing to pay such an incredibly high price to do this, shouldn't we do the same with each other? But, let's go one step further; let's be faithful to each other and to God in the first place!

Thought for today: Am I mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritual faithful in my life?

The Perfect Match February 18, 2019

Genesis 2:18 New International Version (NIV)
18 The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.”

Two powerful principles are presented here. First, God looks out for us and blesses us with what we need most. Second, God made us for relationship: relationship with him and with a husband or wife. Yes, Matthew 19 and 1 Corinthians 7 both emphasize that some are gifted to be single, but most of us are made to be complete with another. Marriage and a godly husband or wife are a gift from God. Let's live like they are!

Thought for today: Do I seek God’s help when I need a pairing/match for any aspect of my life, not just relationship?

Pride Goeth February 17, 2019

Isaiah 2:17-18 New International Version (NIV)
17 The arrogance of man will be brought low
    and human pride humbled;
the Lord alone will be exalted in that day,
18     and the idols will totally disappear.

Sometimes when we get "too big for our britches," we find ourselves humbled by a natural disaster, world war, incurable disease, economic depression, or widespread social disorder. Our arrogance can be a predictor of our own impending disasters. Is there a general principle of our universe at work here? ("Pride goes before a fall.") Or is this the active discipline of God at work? I guess the answer is "Yes!" to both of these questions. Both God and his world remind us that there is so much about our lives we can't control. This passage, however, goes beyond the general principles and it promises an ultimate day when human arrogance will be eliminated and all false gods disappear. On that day, God's children will rejoice and be glad! Until then, let's walk humbly with our God.

Thought for today: Do I walk ahead of God or am I willing to let Him lead?

No Write Offs February 16, 2019

16 “The man who hates and divorces his wife,” says the Lord, the God of Israel, “does violence to the one he should protect,” says the Lord Almighty.
So be on your guard, and do not be unfaithful.

In a throw-away world, God wants us to know that he hates it when we throw away people. Let's call each other to God's standard, to God's holiness. Let's not let our spirits be corrupted by selfishness and resentment. Let's not break faith with God by treating those closest to us with contempt. And in a world where people get broken by divorce, let's go find them, include them, and bring them home to God's family for healing.

Thought for today: Do I seek to include, nurture and heal?

Shine February 15, 2019

Philippians 2:14-15 New International Version (NIV)
14 Do everything without grumbling or arguing, 15 so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky

We shouldn't be surprised that unbelievers around us have a different set of values than we do. After all, a star isn't surprised to find that it shines in the great expanse of darkness surrounding it. You see, a star and a disciple of Jesus share one basic purpose: shining our light in the darkness, no matter how great that darkness!

Thought for today: Do I reflect God’s light and wisdom to others?

A Promise Kept February 14, 2019

Habakkuk 2:14 New International Version (NIV)
14 For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord
as the waters cover the sea.

What a glorious day when this promise is fully realized! Let's make every effort and commit ourselves to the task of making our glorious God known to every nation, tribe, language, and people.
Thought for today: Do I look for the presence of God in every situation?

Heartbreaking February 13, 2019

Joel 2:13 New International Version (NIV)
13 Rend your heart
    and not your garments.
Return to the Lord your God,
for he is gracious and compassionate,
slow to anger and abounding in love,
and he relents from sending calamity.

One of the most amazing things about our God is that he is so gracious and compassionate. This is true even when we've "blown it big time." In fact, when we sin, he longs to forgive and cleanse, not condemn and punish. His grace rushes to greet our genuine heartbreak and heart-change with forgiveness, cleansing, and redemption.

Thought for today: Do I seek God to soothe me or am I always looking for punitive correction?

Quenched February 12, 2019

Jeremiah 2:12-13 New International Version (NIV)
12 Be appalled at this, you heavens,
    and shudder with great horror,”
declares the Lord.
13 “My people have committed two sins:
They have forsaken me,
    the spring of living water,
and have dug their own cisterns,
broken cisterns that cannot hold water.

Where do you turn to have the thirst of your soul slaked? I firmly believe that many addictive habits and sins are the result of pursuing things to satisfy this thirst in our soul by some means other than seeking God. He is the only source of true and lasting refreshment, satisfaction, and fulfillment. Let's pursue God, knowing that only he can satisfy the desire of our souls.

Thought for today: Does what you drink sustain you?

Haste Makes For Waste February 11, 2019

Proverbs 2:11 New International Version (NIV)
11 Discretion will protect you,
    and understanding will guard you.

My greatest mistakes have been made in haste, when I didn't allow a little prayer time to consider what I was going to do or say. While discretion and understanding are acquired through learning and experience, they are also a gift from God. But this gift doesn't come on demand. It comes from patiently seeking, trusting, and waiting on the Lord's guidance and from longing to live for him as a person of character.

Thought for today: Do I allow for prayer and God’s guidance in my daily routine

One Of A Kind, God Design February 10, 2019

Ephesians 2:10 New International Version (NIV)
10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Did you know that God is an artisan? Even more importantly, did you know that you are one of his masterpieces? God has designed us to be beautifully useful for doing good things! So let's not let anyone, especially not the evil one, convince us that we are not worth anything to others or to God. His grace has made our lives canvases upon which he will provide the world more masterpiece works of his artistry! Let's live up to God's high opinion of us.

Thought for today: Do I reflect God’s artistry?

Whoa!!! And Woe!!!! February 9, 2019

Habakkuk 2:9 New International Version (NIV)
9 “Woe to him who builds his house by unjust gain,
    setting his nest on high
to escape the clutches of ruin!

In our "dog eat dog" world, in our race to get to the top and leave all our rivals in a heap at the bottom, God tells us both "Whoa!" and "Woe!" He tells us to stop and realize that Kingdom values are different from worldly values — that there is no success without service. He also warns us that he will bring us to ruin if we ignore his values by placing ourselves above the well-being of others or pursuing our own success at the cost of our ethics.

Thought for today: Do I think more highly of myself than I ought to and do my thoughts hinder my walk?

The Greatest Gift February 8, 2019

Ephesians 2:8-9 New International Version (NIV)
8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.

As a child, I loved to receive gifts. In such a simple time of life, a gift meant I was loved. I didn't worry about the significance or hidden message in a gift. I wasn't concerned about the "strings attached" to the gift. It was just a gift — a free expression of love I didn't deserve, given to me by someone who truly cared for me. Isn't it great to get to be God's child and receive his gift and know we can receive it as a child?!

Thought for today: Do I understand and appreciate what it means to say I’m a child of God?

Our Purpose February 7, 2019

Genesis 2:7 New International Version (NIV)
7 Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.

We are God's creation. He fashioned and formed our original ancestors out of the dust of the ground. He molded each of us and created each of us in our mother's womb (Psalm 139:13-16). Like Adam, God fills us with his breath and blesses us with life. We are his workmanship, his artistry, made to experience life in all its fullness (John 10:10) and created to do his work in our world (Ephesians 2:10).
Thought for today: Do I know my purpose?

The Center Of My Joy February 6, 2019

Colossians 2:6-7 New International Version (NIV)
6 So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, 7 rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.

Jesus is our center! He is the hub around which we turn. Rather than trying to add on to the truth of Jesus, we must learn to accept it and trust it in child-like faith. But that child-like faith must be nourished and grown. As Jesus remains our central focus and our hearts remain thankful to God for his grace, we will that our faith is strengthened and that Jesus is more real than ever.

Thought for today: Is God at the center of my life?

Inheritance February 5, 2019

Philippians 2:5-6 New International Version (NIV)
5 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:
6 Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;

What a glorious thought! What a lofty aspiration! What an incredible challenge! I am to have the same attitude as Jesus had. It's almost unthinkable. But just almost! You see, God calls us to this glorious, lofty, and unthinkable height because he calls us his children. He wants us to be humble and to be a servant just as Jesus was.

Thought for today: What are my acts of service ?

Grace & Mercy February 4, 2019

Ephesians 2:4-5 New International Version (NIV)
4 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.

We have no claim to bring to God! We have no right to demand salvation! We have no power within us that can hold on to life! Only God's love can bring us life, hope, and grace. Only God's mercy can bring us salvation. Only God's gift of Christ can awaken us from the death-slumber of sin.

Thought for today: Am I truly prepared to accept the outcome of my actions?

True Humility February 3, 2019

Philippians 2:3 New International Version (NIV)
3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves,

Humility is recognizing who God has made us to be and using that recognition to serve and redeem others. Living in humility as Jesus did, we don't just practice the golden rule, but we go one step better — we treat others better than we would treat ourselves. Are we instructed to do this because we're unworthy or unfit? No! Jesus was worthy and glorious, but he chose to treat others better than himself when he sacrificially gave himself to redeem them. It's a high standard. It's a hard standard. It is not for wimps. But it is ultimately glorious. (Hint: Read down through verse 10 and remember that the same type of reward will be given to the faithful!)

Thought for today: Do I go above and beyond when I extend help to others?

Rebel To Righteous February 2, 2019

Jonah 2:1-2 New International Version (NIV)
2 1From inside the fish Jonah prayed to the Lord his God. 2 He said:
“In my distress I called to the Lord,
    and he answered me.
From deep in the realm of the dead I called for help,
and you listened to my cry.

Jonah was disobedient, rebellious, and selfish. He had run from the Lord. He had shunned the Lord's command. He had endangered the lives of those on the ship where he had tried to hide. Yet even in the middle of his rebellion, God heard his cry and delivered him. If you are in rebellion, if you are seeking to hide some secret and all-consuming sin, please know the Lord wants to ransom and redeem you! Things won't be easy, but coming back to the Lord means ultimate redemption and deliverance.

Thought for today: Am I capable of a complete confession or do I still try to minimize my wrongs?

Defense February 1, 2019

1 John 2:1-2 New International Version (NIV)
2 My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. 2 He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.

John wants to prevent even one sinful event in the lives of those he loves. He is concerned because he knows that even one sinful event can be used by Satan to discourage and defeat us. We need to know that we have a Savior and a defender. He paid the price to redeem us, he sent his Spirit to help us overcome sin's power, and he will speak to the Father and claim that right to forgive us.

Thought for today: Do I take my offense to confession for the defense?
