Matthew 5:13 (NIV)
13 “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt
loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for
anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.
Jesus never wanted us to give up our moral distinctiveness,
our redemptive influence, nor our loving impact on those around us. The purpose
of our presence in the world is to preserve our culture from further decay and
season the bitter, dog-eat-dog world, with grace and mercy.
