Colossians 1:9 New International Version (NIV)
9 For this reason, since the day we heard about
you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to
fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and
understanding that the Spirit gives,
Paul wrote these words to the Christians at Colossae, but he
had never been there. Despite his lack of "in person" knowledge, he
ministered effectively to the Colossians. He prayed specifically for them to
better know God and his will for them. What a great idea! Let's find a mission
church (inner city, overseas, hostile environment) and start praying
consistently for that congregation, asking God to help them know him and his
will more perfectly.
Thought for today:
Can I recognize spiritual need and pray for strangers?
