Person, Problem, Prescription – March 4, 2015

I am a series of blogs related to relationships and relationship issues. How we place value in people over value in God and His word. How we take on excess baggage based on our limited understanding and perception of who God says we are and what we know about love....

Please believe that I have struggled with and had my share of personal experience....with and without the knowledge of God's word and will.  I have run on self-will and openly defied God in this area albeit to apocalyptic results; so I ask you who better to speak on the subject than a counselor and minister with practical "hard knocks life" experience?

I'm just going to highlight a few scriptures and pose some words and lessons for self-examination

Luke: 13: 10 – 13       10 And He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath. 11 And there was a woman who for eighteen years had had a sickness caused by a spirit; and she was bent double, and could not straighten up at all. 12 When Jesus saw her, He called her over and said to her, "Woman, you are freed from your sickness."…  13 And He laid His hands on her; and immediately she was made erect again and began glorifying God.

We periodically find commonality or identify with someone whose story of trial and healing closely parallels our own.
This woman’s problem is her own issue but maybe we can superimpose our issue and feel the full effects.

When you go to the doctor there are three factors that come into play in creating your story 1) the person, 2) the problem and last but by no means least 3) the prescription.

Now the first thing to note: The person- the woman realized that there was a problem and she sought counsel (she was in the synagogue) …NOTE She was not talking with her girlfriends or seeking information from someone involved in the situation…she was there to talk to the ULTIMATE and INTIMATE (He knows the hidden and unspoken ailments) healer.

Psalm 1: 1-2     1 How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, Nor stand in the path of sinners, Nor sit in the seat of scoffers! 2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night.…
Proverbs 11: 14     For lack of guidance a nation falls, but victory is won through many advisers.
What has you bowed under its weight and pressure?

The problem may stem from something the past but know that the prescription is a present and timely word from God!!!!
